Arches National Park "Devils Garden"

Hello and good tidings to all. Lookie Lookie, we are posting more stuff about us. We just love to brag do we not?? We need spankings, we are so bad!! ha ha ha
We leave Moab tomarrow morning to continue on with our adventures. We actually have not been doing much of anything except laying around reading and relaxing for the last four days. We went to Devils Canyon in Arches National Park for a Geo Cache. We did not expect it to be the hike it turned out to be. We knew it was a five mile hike if we just walked in and out, but we could not do that!! It ended up being over a seven mile hike and when you see what we hiked, you will be as impressed with our old selves as we are. The reason for the four day rest is not the hike itself, we feel great (no soreness) but I got sunburned on my shoulders and back pretty good. I have needed to stay OUT of the sun, so hince, no hiking, no sun, just stay in shade. Today is the first day I feel not burned.
Ok, enought of my chatter, on with the pictures!!

The entrance to Devils Canyon. It looks like it is going to be such a lovely stroll does it not??

This sign (I think you can click on the picture and get it to be bigger) tells you there is an arch in front of you. Cleaver them forest service peoples are.

Take a good look at this arch as it is falling to pieces. If you will notice from what the sign said, it is crumbling. This is probley the last picture EVER taken in the world of this arch. It probably fell down right AFTER we left the park. (Do you beleive that?? If so, we need to talk in person...I have a deal for you!!)

Now, I do not want to shock ya or nothing, but your going to see lots of pictures of holes in the rocks. These are called Arches. I love the rocks. There are so many colors and textures that go along with them. It is quite beautful. God does good work does he not!!

This Arch was a really neat arch. We really had to hike to get to it as you can see from the background. That is me standing there, and the guy behind me is an Italian guy we have been following with his group of three others. He was the only one who spoke english. Did I mention the Canadian we picked up one the trail?? His name is James. We all became friends and he joined us on treck over Devils Canyon. We bonded through Water. (I shared my water with him. Poor guy had no idea he was going to meet us and be dragged all over Devils Canyon so he did not have a lot of water with him)

This fin is part of the primative trail. Yeah, I went over that. Not by looking around either. I had to keep my hands on each side of my eyes (like those things they put on horses eyes to keep them from not shying when their pulling buggies) and James had to be there encourging me the whole way. ( ok, Chuck was in front, James behind me so I had no choice but to go) My knees were jelly. I do NOT do high places well. I did however make it alive.

This is James, The Canadian we met on the trail. Notice he is smiling now. Just you wait James!! Your going to be crying later on!!

This little jewel is Dark Angel.

This picture looks like an elephant looking at you does it not. This was on the way back on primative trail. This trail was beautiful and such a cool trail. It would of been better if we had taken it when we first started out and when we were "fresh" instead of on the way back when we were dieing. Man, it was so hot out there.

I can not remember the name of this Arch, but it was so cool and pretty. I mean cool by shade. I was very happy about that. Lots of blessed shade.

Some pictures of Fiery Furnace. These pictures are of a different day. These were a couple days before Devils Canyon. I can not write on all of them as for some reason they are set up different on the blog. You will just have to view and enjoy them. I do know for sure however, you can click on the picture and they will become bigger so you can see them. This was a canyon Chuck and I really liked. You had to go with a Ranger on a tour. (Yeah, they CHARGE you for this one...probley for the rangers services and then do not give HIM any of the money) Thats why the group of peoples you see. We were with a wonderful group of people. Lots of French people and Germans in Arches. We had lots of fun with them and I learned lots of different things about there country. The kids were great on this trip and very enjoyable. So since I can not write much further on, Enjoy these pictures and the next time we get on the blog should be probably a few days. We are headed to Boise Idaho to see chucks sis, and then to Sumpter Oregon to be with some friends. We will post soon. Take care of each other.
