Deming New Mexico

Well, we made it to Deming Ok. Arrived on May 10th and boondocked on our property for the first week. Unloaded, Loaded, and repacked for the rest of our journey. Here is a picture of our camp.

This is called Boondocking in Style......

We then moved to Dee's Uncles property and started the ole doctors appointments, getting mail and all that good stuff. Planned on leaving the week before Memorial day but that did not happen. We will probably be here another couple of weeks.

Dee here. Once again I have spoiled our travel plan's. A few days before my doctors visit, I discovered a baseball size round thing at the back of my leg. Then it grew. It is now about the size of a large grapefuit. The doctor say's he thinks it is a fatty mass and he says this is very serious. (I was joking about it, I think he thought I was not serious, but this is the way I "deal" with most things) Anyway, he seems to think that it has been there for quite awhile, however, since I was so fat I never noticed it. I asked why I did not feel it (Like I am now) and he said because it was encrusted in fat and tissue. Now that I have lost over 60 pounds my leg is thiner and I can sure see and feel it. Anyway, now it sticks out like another butt growing on my leg. It extends from the middle of the back of my leg, around the to the inside of my thigh.
I get to have more surgery. Doc says that is the only way to remove something this big. So I go under the knife once more. I have high hopes that the doctor who does the surgery will tighten up the skin on that side and make it plastic surgery beautiful. Then I will only have to pay for the other side to be done. Of- course, maybe he would give me a break doing the other side to!! Chuck say he does not think so, and from what I read on the internet, he is probley right. I go in next Tuesday for a consulation. I hope they can do it like the next day so we can get on the road. I would just hate to ruining Chucks summer like I did last summer.

Other than that, life is good. I am loving the dogs here. Gary has four dogs here. The inside Taco dogs and one big mix stray called Red Dog. Well, she is not a stray now, she is family. The sweetest dog ever. I always get a kick out of the little dogs when they are with me and Chris or Chuck comes up to me. They get attacked. I am their human to sit on and no one ever better get between me and them!!!
Gary and Chris like the fact that I am here to cook for them. Chris says his Grandpa doesn't cook as good as we do. But the reality is that while I am here, Travis is not making Chris help with the cooking so he learns to cook. I know that kid game!!! However, either way, they all get food and I do the dishes. (Gary has a dishwasher) I had big plans to clean the house today, but instead we went Geo Caching. Tomarrow is another day and I will be nice and clean Garys house then.
Today is Chris's last day of school. I wonder how "bored" he will be in two days!!
Travis (our son) is doing good with his Real Estate out here. He has had a few sales and is currently in the process of buying some property of his own to resale. It amazes me that in just a few months how much the area has grown. They have had a 30% growth rate, most of these people are retired. Nope, don't include us. We are not ready to settle down yet, nor is this our paradise. There is no ocean here. No tree's. Way to windy that snap's that sand and dirt around until the inside of the house has a thick covering all over the floors. Nope, not our paradise.

We have done several Geocaches while here and some of them were real bears. The following is a few pictures.

There are some really cool mines around this area. These rocks are almost a red color and very pretty.

This is the remains of a mine shaft. It took us a long time to find this cache. It was well hidden. Course, I was weiry of snakes, but there were none.

Chuck up on a rock getting his bearings. This in in City of Rocks state park. nice little park. We found three caches here.

This is Travis and the cache we found. Notice how high up he is. We rode the ATV's out here over hill, arroyo's and around catcus. It was quite a fun ride.

I think these are cool. They are markers telling you the mine is abandoned. Like the debris is not enough to know!!

Anyway, this is our life so far. There are some beautiful places out here to explore. Chuck and I will be going into Mexico in a day or so as I want to get my teeth cleaned. We will do another Geo Cache in Pacho Villa State Park and another in Columbus before we go into Mexico.
We hope you lives are filled with fun and love.
